Powerkidz festival and edible installation at the Powerhouse Brisbane July 2011
The Powerkidz festival is run in the mid year school holidays each year, at Brisbanes heritage listed Powerhouse venue.
This year I ran Little green fingers workshops where 4-8 year olds children learnt about recycling, delicious food plants and planted seedlings into an old boot. What a blast! Lots of boots , but no-one was singing the song 'These boots are made for walking' In fact, it was more like these boots have done their walking, now they're growing
For the older children, sharing favourite pizza recipes then learning how to grow their favourire pizza ingredients from seed was a blast! Pizza Capers donated the boxes and Searles the organic potting mix. (Thanks!) I expect the pizza boxes will be providing flourishing food for ages to come.
