About Linda
I have a passion Linda for good food grown and prepared locally. I also have an unquenchable thirst to share my lifetime of knowledge and experience to help you create your own bountiful garden.
My childhood was spent in a vegetable garden and wandering the bush with my parents, picking wild foods, harvesting honey and growing almost all our vegetables and fruit on a ¼ acre block.
This helped to sow the seeds of a love of nature and the potential for productive gardens. I even proudly entered my flower or vegetable exhibits in the annual Horticultural shows.
As a child I was the youngest member of the Latrobe Valley Field Naturalists. The celebrated botanist Jean Galbraith was a figurehead in this organisation and was delighted to share her knowledge with even their youngest member.
So, it was a natural progression that my life journey has taken me through a midwifery career caring for new families, into a horticultural career also caring for life. Now it extends to plants, gardens, people and the environment.
I have been teaching and running workshops for over 2 decades. (You can’t hold a natural teacher back.) People like you are searching for eco-friendly organic and productive solutions. The environment and edible gardens have become popular at last!
I have helped students learn about good landscape design, and people’s interaction with the environment at Griffith University, QUT and TAFE.
You will find me running professional development courses in workplaces, speaking at fairs and events and helping people like you create gorgeous sustainable gardens.
I love learning too and have undertaken research and self-funded study tours in Australia and Internationally about every 2 years.
